My husband and I are in our early 20s we had no guidance going into this. Which is our fault but we just wanted a better home for our family. We started the process in February 2024 .We gave our old mobile as trade in we got $5000 for it and we also put another $5000 cash. Which equaled a $10,000 down payment in August 6 months later. We were still waiting living with relatives because they had taken our old mobile a few weeks after starting the process. We decided we were tired of waiting we asked for at least some of our deposit back. We were told that everything they did equaled out to $10,000 so we weren’t getting any of it back. We were left with no money and no home.

Edit to add: BBB has been notified, if you also read the reviews on there you will learn this is a common occurrence with this company. I 100% recommend going to Clayton Homes in Sa,tx. Michael was Amazing and super helpful. I learned my lesson trying to cut corners at a “mom and pop” shop.DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. The BBB Will be called today 11/12/24. I have been waiting 15 BUSINESS days because they love to stress the “no weekends count” and I have not received my $500 deposit. They lie to your face and over the phone and come up with excuses as to why I haven’t gotten my deposit back. I spoke with a manager who said “I’m sorry you didn’t read your contract but we have UP TO 15 days to issue your money back. So unfortunately there is nothing I can do” this was last week on Tuesday. Today is 15 days and now I’m being told it can take 20 because they are backed up. They are so quick to take your money but refuse to give it back to you. Please Read the Yelp Reviews before considering this place. These google reviews are either fake or I just haven’t dealt with the correct people yet. I’ve been in contact with Renee, Isabel, mark and now Paul and nobody can give me my money back. This is ridiculous and a horrible way to conduct business.
